Samantha Chappell has joined Thalian Association as Community Arts Center Director and Operations Coordinator. The Thalian Association has managed the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center for the City of Wilmington since 1994.
Samantha is a 2012 graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in Communications/Performance Studies. In June 2012, she became the Assistant Director for Performance Club Studio Theater, a children’s theater company that specializes in theater classes, children’s theater in the park productions, semi-professional productions at Thalian Studio Theater and summer camp programs. Samantha also edited the Performance Club short film’s and has been a filmmaker at the Cucalorus Film festival for the past 2 years. Her theater experience also includes three years with the Playmakers Repertory company in Chapel Hill.
Aside from theater, Samantha was an administrative assistant for an international award-winning children’s website, TheRealToothFaries.com, where she specialized in various social media platforms and developing digital marketing strategies.
Samantha has been affiliated with the Thalian Association and the Community Arts Center as a volunteer, box office manager and Children’s Theater stage manager.
In her spare time she likes to kayak, watch movies, and play board games with her family! Her favorite thing about the CAC is that it is a place where artists, both the young and the young at heart, can express themselves creatively in a supportive community atmosphere!
