Broadway Song & Tap Ages 12 and Up
Do you have a young performer who loves to sing but wants to learn tap? This is a class for beginner to intermediate “Singers Who Tap” interested in combining Broadway-style tap combinations & choreography with their voices. Each class will include a warm-up, floor progressions & combinations focusing on technique & musicality, giving students an opportunity to strengthen the quality of their tap sounds & performance level. Students should wear comfortable active attire & tap shoes. Tap shoes can be any color and style. Broadway Song & Tap will begin Wednesday Sept. 20, 2023. An extra class will be scheduled during the semester.
Blake Carter
Blake Carter lives in Wilmington with her husband Thomas, son Owen, and dog Hudson. She studied theatre with a focus in children’s theatre and theatre for young audiences. Through children’s theatre she quickly discovered her passion for teaching young students. She has worked with children in many different environments including traditional schools, cooperative schools, enrichment programs, and in home care. As a teaching artist and educator, she has shared her love of all things creative with over 500 students in both Georgia, Illinois, and North Carolina. She is a lover of nature, literature, music and all creatures. She is a collector of moments and believes even the smallest moments can be filled with important life lessons.
Logan Mack
Logan Mack is a graduate of UNCW class of 2019, and has been performing with the Thalian Association since their production of Young Frankenstein in 2017. Logan has performed in a number of shows with the Thalian Association including, but not limited to, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Little Shop of Horrors, Company, and Something Rotten! Logan currently works at PPD/ThermoFisher Scientific as a Medical Communications Specialist. However, like so many other members of our community, his love for theatre keeps him going
