Anne of Green Gables Auditions
TACT Youth Program Brings a Classic to Life on Stage Thalian Association Community Theatre will hold auditions for the play, Anne of Green Gables, Saturday February 13th at 11 am.The play with replace the previously scheduled Pinkalicious which cannot be performed due to various COVID restrictions. Auditions will be held at the Community Arts Center, 120 S. 2nd Street in downtown Wilmington. Anne of Green Gables will be directed by Stacie Smith. The production will run for live performances with limited seating March 19 through March 28 with stream options also available. Audition Participants need to be prepared to read sides from the show with other performers.Those wishing to audition may call 910-251-1788 to set up an audition time. Callbacks will be that afternoon if needed. Due to mass gathering rules, the cast will remain smaller than typical TACT youth shows. All roles are available. TACT’s artistic director encourages youth with all levels of experience to audition. All are welcome. Please arrive with your audition form already filled out. Please do not enter the building until it is your time to audition. “We are very excited to produce a play!”, says Artistic Director Chandler Davis. “This is a great opportunity for those who don’t consider themselves singers and for those who typically only do musicals to stretch other creative muscles.” This new dramatization captures the charm and excitement of L.M. Montgomery’s enduring classic about an orphan girl, Anne Shirley, from her first encounter with her austere guardian to her thrilling graduation from Queen’s Academy. The play faithfully recreates the memorable events and characters from the brilliant novel. Whether the playgoer is an “old friend” of Anne’s or meeting her for the first time, this play will solidify a lasting friendship between the audience and one of literature’s most unforgettable characters. Established in 1788, Thalian Association Community Theatre is a non-profit, membership organization dedicated to enhancing the Cape Fear region through live community theatre and arts education. Thalian Association Community Theatre produces five major productions annually on the Main Stage at historic Thalian Hall and professionally manages the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center for the City of Wilmington. The youth theatre program was created in 1979 to offer training and performance opportunities for children age seven through high school seniors. In 2007, Thalian Association Community Theatre was designated North Carolina’s Official Community Theater by the state legislature.
