Star Sosa

Star Sosa, is an award winning fine jewelry designer and entrepreneur is best known in the Cape Fear Region for Spectrum Gallery and Spectrum Fine Jewelry. Before moving to Wilmington, Ms. Sosa owned a wholesale and retail jewelry design business in California and New Mexico. Her jewelry designs were sold at fine juried craft shows across the United States and in stores from San Francisco to New York City. Spectrum Gallery opened in Chandlers Wharf in downtown Wilmington in 1997 and moved to The Forum in 2000. The art gallery closed in 2016 but Spectrum Fine Jewelry continued with an award winning team known for exceptional custom fine jewelry design, unique gems and jewelry, and expert repair and restoration services. Star Sosa retired in 2019 to care for family members. Spectrum hosted monthly events & fund raisers for 22 years and represented literally hundreds of artists and designers. In the community, Spectrum supported performing and visual artists and organizations and was a business underwriter of WHQR for over 20 years. Star Sosa developed and produced the Azalea Plein Air Paint Out and Benefit Art Sale which happens during the Cape Fear Garden Club’s annual Azalea Garden Tour. Star’s experience as a craft show exhibitor, art show organizer, and gallery owner will be a wonderful support for art shows, special events, and educational efforts at the Community Arts Center.”
