Travis Gilbert is a public historian, preservationist, and non-profit executive with a decade of experience interpreting the story of coastal North Carolina. Currently, Gilbert is the Director of Philanthropy for the Old Baldy Foundation, which preserves Old Baldy Lighthouse as a historic site on Bald Head Island. He received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, and his previous roles include executive director of the Historic Wilmington Foundation, Educator for the Old Baldy Foundation, and Manager of the Lower Cape Fear Historical Society. Gilbert is an ex-officio trustee of the Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts and is a proud color bearer member of the American Battlefield Trust.
