You need JavaScript enabled to view it TACT AUDITIONS FOR MUSICAL 13 Thalian Association Children’s Theater (TACT) will hold auditions for the Wilmington premiere of the Broadway musical 13 on Saturday, January 9 at 10AM sharp. Open to ages 11 through high school seniors. No prepared material is required; be prepared to dance (no sandals or flip-flops). The production, directed and choreographed by David T. Loudermilk with music direction by Linda Carilse-Markas, runs March 5-7 at the Hannah Block 2nd Street Stage, 120 S. 2nd Street in downtown Wilmington, where the auditions will be held. 13 is a grown-up musical about growing up. When his parents get divorced and he's forced to move from New York to a small town in Indiana, Evan Goldman just wants to make friends and survive the school year. Easier said than done. The star quarterback is threatening to ruin his life and his only friend, Patrice, won't talk to him. The school freak sees an opportunity for blackmail and someone is spreading nasty rumors. With an unforgettable rock score from Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, 13 is a hilarious, high-energy musical for all ages about discovering that cool is where you find it, and sometimes where you least expect it. 13 CAST BREAKDOWN 13 has an ensemble cast with many featured roles. ARCHIE: an individual, able to laugh at the world's problems, loyal and intelligent. Suffers from a degenerative muscle disease and uses crutches. BRETT: a popular kid and leader, ready to succeed at another's expense. EDDIE: part of Brett's pack of popular kids. EVAN: bright, charismatic, a little bit nerdy, in search of a place to truly fit in. KENDRA: bubbly and popular, but slightly naive and impressionable. |
The Pat Hingle Scholarship in Theater Arts is administered annually by Thalian Association, the Official Community Theater of North Carolina.
The scholarship is awarded to a deserving high school senior who has proven to be a serious student of the theater and plans to pursue a theatrical education after graduation.

Thank you all for making our 2007/08 season one of our most successful ever. We were honored as Wilmington’s Best Theater Company by the readers of encore Magazine for the fourth consecutive year, for which we are deeply grateful.
I’m extremely proud of what we continue to accomplish and wildly enthused about our 2009/10 season of productions. |
